Bass & Flinders
3 Hour Lunch Cruise
There was rain the day before but we had good weather as we left Harrington Park for our cruise. On the way we had a leisurely Morning Tea at Woronora Reserve and an opportunity for a chat.
The Bass & Flinders Cruise departed from its berth at Sans Souci with the Captain Cook Bridge in the background and the nearby St George Motor Boat Club. Ahead for us was a journey up the impressive Georges River to our turn around point near Alfords Point.
Along the way we leant about the history and stories associated with the river. We discovered a multitude of Bays including Kyle, Connells, Neverfail, Gungah, Jew Fish, Lime Kiln and Wetlands . We cruised past Bald Face Reserve, The Georges River National Park, Como, Lugarno and under the Tom Ugly’s and Como Rail Bridges. We explored the famous Sylvania Water and admired the properties at Kangaroo Point including the impressive “Nervi”.
We had an enjoyable lunch and a further chance to get to know each other. The day ended with a surprise visit to the Darrell Lea Chocolate Outlet with many stocking up with their favourites.
Thank you to those who attended and from feedback it would seem to have been a popular trip.
