A presentation detailing firstly the life of the Reverend John Flynn, including his founding of both the Australian Inland Mission and the RFDS, through to his death in 1951, then secondly the scope and activities of the current day RFDS.”

After retiring from the Commonwealth Bank in 2007 he has devoted more time to traveling within Australia and overseas. Greg volunters for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). His role with them normally involves office work and community speaking.  

While 4WDriving in Cape York some years ago his wife became ill and they experienced for themselves the support extended by the Service. This prompted his enthusiasm for promoting awareness of the RFDS to the broader community.

Ellie Pavlov is the Marketing Executive for the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research. She will be talking about the world class research precinct at Liverpool Hospital.

Presentation will be about medical research "right in our backyard".
We will learn about the medical technologies, and world and Australian-first discoveries, that have been made right here in their local community. Guests will learn about the broad range of medical research being conducted from cancer, brain injury through to childhood development. Ellie will touch briefly on Clinical Trials and our plans for the future in South West Sydney.

There is a team of 200 researchers at the forefront of some exciting discoveries relating to key disease areas affecting local community & Australia at large.
