A Private 5 hour Sydney Harbour Lunch Cruise

Friday 17/2/17 saw 70 members from Narellan and Harrington Park take a relaxing leisurely 5 hour cruise on Sydney Harbour.

An early start saw us all at Circular Quay by 9.30.

The local tourist store saw a few quick purchases of sun hats and a few coffees.

Our boat came into the Commanders steps, and luckily for us right beside the Ovation of the Sea ocean liner. It was like it was a giant ship and we were the ant sized boat.

Tea and coffee and a running commentary saw us sail towards the Spit Bridge. Being a few minutes late meant that we missed the bridge opening, but with the crew on the roof of the boat we safely navigated through.

Canapés were served, followed by lunch. Hot and cold meats, salads and vegetables all prepared in the small galley were delicious. A few of us washed down our meal with a purchase from the bar. Then some chocolate cake to follow.

Our return towards Sydney saw the opening of the Spit Bridge, which was very interesting to see. Multi-Million dollar homes all along the shore saw everyone envious- some magnificent mansions here

Steve, again arranged with the weather Gods to provide beautiful weather. Instead of the 40+ days we have recently experienced, it was in the mid 30's and very comfortable. As we prepared to land at the Quay we could see a nasty storm brewing, but luckily we didn't experience a drop of rain. Approximately 1 hour later the heavens opened.

None of us had cruise ship tickets for Ovation of the sea, so most of us hopped back onto the train and headed for home.

A highlight for me personally was that I wasn't sea sick, although as usual I did feel a bit seedy even with the slight swell.

Many thanks to Steve White and Anna Degnan for arranging a great day out. Great value and another opportunity to chat with other members from both clubs. Members that didn't attend missed a great day out.
